Toll Index – October 2013 – Best since 2007

The Toll Index for October 2013  shows a seasonally expected (Octobers are seasonal peaks) increase in transportation activity compared to September 2013. The number of outbound, border-crossing heavy trucks, taking working days into account, increased by more than 3.82% compared to last month and by more than 3.48% compared to October 2012 (the corresponding numbers for incoming vehicles are: +.95% and +2.10%). This October has been an exceptionally active month in terms of transportation (best October since 2007)  and one should expect the BMWi to announce similar manufacturing numbers in a couple of weeks time.
